What is temple and forehead rejuvenation?

Our upper face is an area often overlooked but plays a key part in aesthetic rejuvenation.

As we age the forehead starts to develop more shadows and hollowing which can lead it to look more masculine.

A hollowing of the temples can occur, due to fat loss associated with ageing or weight loss. This in turn, causes the face to appear more skeletal and will lead to a drop in the brow position, making us look tired and sad.

The temples can be restored with the use fo dermal fillers the procedure can also give a subtle lift to the brows

What happens during a temple filler treatment?

Dr Amy Law’s approach is to always strive for a natural result.

The area to be treated will be numbed using a topical anaesthetic. After which, Dr Amy will use a cannula to inject the dermal filler in to your temples.

The procedure should not take more than 30 to 40 minutes, after which, you can return to your daily activities, making sure you adhere to any aftercare advice that the doctor offers you.

Dr Amy Says…

“This treatment is like the cherry on top of the cake for most facial rejuvenation treatments. It isn’t necessarily an area that our patients come in asking for treatment but once they are aware of the impact it has in completing any rejuvenation treatments, they are extremely happy with the results.”.

When will I see the results from my temple filler treatment with Dr Amy Law?

You will see the results immediately and notice a rise in your eyebrows, as well as a softening of that more skeletal appearance to the upper face. However, it’s worth taking in to account that there may be some slight bruising and swelling in this area for a few days after the treatment, which is normal.

Am I suitable for upper facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers?

If you are someone who is experiencing the facial changes which occur due to the natural ageing process or have recently lost a significant amount of weight, a dermal filler treatment for the temples, could be the solution.

This non-surgical approach is very popular with patients who are not ready or do not require invasive surgery. However, even though this procedure is far less invasive than a surgical intervention, we will still ask that you attend a no obligation consultation before treatment, to ascertain your facial requirements, discuss the potential results and check your medical history.

Once Dr Amy is happy to proceed with temple fillers, you can go ahead and book your appointment for the treatment.

How long will my results last?

Expect results to last from 12 to 18 months, depending on your lifestyle and your individual reaction to hyaluronic acid, the main component of the FDA-approved, UK licenced dermal fillers which Dr Amy uses.

What is the downtime after a temple filler treatment

It is common to feel slightly achy and tender in the treatment area for a few weeks but you should be able to continue with normal day to day activities straight afterwards, exercise however should be avoided for a few days, as well as hot steam, saunas and baths.

How much filler do I need?

This will all depend on your unique requirements and will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation and assessment.

Do temple fillers hurt?

There may be some discomfort associated with a dermal filler temple treatment, but as a topical anaesthetic is used and the filler itself will most likely contain Lidocaine, your treatment should not be painful.

What age can a temple filler treatment be offered?

We start to lose facial volume from the age of 27. Therefore, on average, Dr Amy would treat people from their mid 30’s and above. There has, however been cases of patients in their twenties who have volume loss in their temples who benefit greatly from this treatment
