Profile balancing typically includes assessing the position of the nose, lips and chin and tweaking any aspect to make them more balanced and therefore harmonising the facial profile, something in which Dr Amy Law specialises.
Profile Balancing is assessing the side profile of our face to ensure our facial features are balanced with one another.
Many of us don’t realise is that our brain is hardwired to pick up on any aspect of our face that might not be within its ideal ratio. For example, a weak chin can emphasise how we visualise the nose and lips.
This often leads to us becoming anxious and fixated on the nose as we may feel it is too big on the face. By bringing the chin into balance the nose will automatically appear smaller. If we have a weak chin and we enhance someone lips without balancing the chin, the lips will protrude too much from the side and look unnatural.
Typically profile balancing includes an assessment of the position of the nose, lips and chin and adjusting any aspect to make them more balanced and so harmonising the facial profile,
In many cases, a dermal anaesthetic will be used to numb your skin. After which, Dr Amy Law will inject precise quantities of a specifically-chosen dermal filler in to the area of concern.
This should not be painful and may take between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas to be treated.
Dr Amy may then mould or massage the product, to achieve a smooth and natural appearance.
Dr Amy says…
“A truly lifechanging treatment! So much less risky than surgery and with no downtime!’ .
If you are aged between 18 and 65 years and feel self- conscious about a certain aspect of your facial anatomy, facial balancing using temporary dermal fillers could be the non-surgical solution for your concerns.
However, before we can agree to treat you, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation, to discuss your concerns and to ensure there are no medical reasons that you cannot have this injection procedure.
• Nose reshaping
• Chin enhancement
• Lip augmentation
You will see the results of your profile balancing procedure immediately, however, you will need to take in to account, that there may be some bruising and slight swelling of the treatment area, for a few days to a week, following the treatment.
In some cases, a course of treatment is required to achieve optimum results, safely. We will discuss your individual requirements with you, in your no obligation consultation.
Results typically last between 12 to 18 months, depending on the indication treated, the product used and your own response to and metabolism of hyaluronic acid, the key component in temporary dermal fillers.
Absolutely not, typically Dr Amy will assess all 3 areas but treatment will only be performed on the areas requiring volume.
This will vary between individuals. The fee is based per session of treatment and depending on what size you would like your lips this may take multiple sessions. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and if you have smaller lips they key is too slowly build them up to avoid any filler migration.
With any dermal filler treatment there is a risk the filler can migrate (move away from the intended site). In cases where the lips have been treated, we may see the filler move above the border of the lip and create a ledge. However, there are ways to minimise this risk by using appropriate dermal fillers and techniques, although no one can promise zero risk of migration. If the filler moves it’s very easy to dissolve it and this will maintain a natural result.
