Are you seeking a minimally invasive and highly effective method to refresh your skin and achieve a younger-looking appearance?
Get in touch with Dr Amy to schedule a consultation and learn how microneedling can promote collagen production and revitalise your appearance.
Microneedling is a safe, painless, and highly effective treatment that boosts your skin’s natural collagen reproduction. This is ideal for treating skin conditions such as ageing (fine lines and wrinkles), scarring (acne) and hyperpigmentation.
What can be treated?
Increased elasticity, smoother, brighter skin, and an overall even skin tone, that will leave you feeling confident in your own skin.
I have designed the treatment to guarantee your maximum comfort. I first apply a topical anaesthetic to “numb” the area, and then I prep your skin using a gentle enzymatic peel. Next, I apply your preferred serum on the surface, and finally, I use my precise microneedling device to stimulate collagen production and promote healing, which results in a firmer, smoother, and younger complexion.
My micro-needling treatment brings about instant results, such as skin tightening and pore reduction during the healing process. Moreover, the newly formed collagen production helps firm the skin and enhance its texture within 4-6 weeks of treatment, which will make the skin look healthier and more radiant. It also reduces pigmentation on the skin which makes the skin tone more even.
Unlike other procedures, my micro-needling treatment needs no clinical downtime, allowing you to return to your daily routine with no delay. However, you may experience a little redness and swelling in the treated area, which usually disappears within 24-48 hours. In addition, it is not uncommon to have some skin flaking around day 3-5 following the treatment.
Your skin will see improvements after one session but I advise my patients to go for a course of 3-6 treatments, spaced every four weeks for optimal results. Yearly maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain collagen production and skin quality improvements.
Before treatment it is important that you avoid the following:
– Avoid topical creams including retinoids (vit A), exfoliants and topical antibiotics 5-7 days before treatment. They might increase your skins sensitivity
– Accutane for 6 months prior to treatment
– Anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen 3 days before treatment
– Laser treatments, tanning beds and sun exposure for 2 weeks prior
– Avoid shaving on the day of your treatment
Following micro-needling treatment, it’s crucial to follow some pre-cautions to avoid any complications. I recommend that you avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours, touching the treated area, and expose it to any hot tubs, saunas, or swimming for two days. Sun exposure or the use of sunbeds should also be avoided for 7 days. The majority of patients can begin their regular skincare regime 5-7 days after treatment
If you have active acne, wound-healing issues, an active infection, or are pregnant/nursing, this treatment may not be suitable for you. Schedule a consultation to see if microneedling is an option for you.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections and Dermal fillers do not improve the skin quality. They improve volume loss and reduce muscle contraction to prevent lines getting deeper but micro needling works to on the surface to improve the thickness and quality of your skin. Healthier and more hydrated skin means you get an even better result from any Anti-Wrinkle Injections and Filler treatment.
Most definitely! We know that during the menopause women go through the biggest decline in collagen production and their skin can drastically change in appearance. As micro-needling stimulates collagen it will tackle many of the menopausal skin concerns such as age spots, fine lines and wrinkles.
