Dr Amy has been trained by industry leaders. She uses the most advanced techniques to create the most beautiful lips. Lips are so unique to an individual and Dr Amy prides herself in her meticulous approach to restoring lips and is recognised for her natural-looking results.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances, which contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance, already present in areas of the body such as the eyes, connective tissues, joints and skin.
As we age, hyaluronic acid depletes, leaving the skin more susceptible to ageing and dehydration.
Dermal fillers replace the lost hyaluronic acid and physically augment the skin tissues to plump and hydrate them.
Using them within the lip area can increase lip size, correct the lip shape and improve the profile of the lips, for a more youthful appearance.
Dr Amy Law’s approach is to always strive for a natural result.
She will listen to what your expectations are from the treatment and after careful analysis of your lips she will be able to use a specific premium dermal filler to tailor a treatment plan to fit your needs.
We can’t use the same product in everyone similarly to how we can’t use the same shade of foundation on everyone.
Dr Amy has a toolkit of a variety of dermal fillers that can be used for each specific need/result.
She has trained with the industry leaders like Julie Horne to master her Lip Technique to get the most beautifully natural results.
Before your lip filler treatment with Dr Amy can go ahead, she will request that you attend a no obligation consultation and facial assessment. It is at this meeting that you can discuss your concerns about your lips as well as the treatment in detail.
Dr Amy will also check your medical history to ensure that there are no contraindications to prevent the treatment from being safely carried out. Once this meeting is successful, you can book your lip filler treatment.
Your lips will be ‘numbed’ with a topical anaesthetic. Then, Dr Amy will inject a specifically chosen dermal filler in to the areas requiring augmentation or correction. Once this has happened, she may mould and massage the product with her fingertips, so that you obtain a smooth, natural result.
There is no clinical downtime, meaning you won’t have to take time off work. However, there could be some mild to significant swelling and bruising in the days after your dermal filler lip treatment. Therefore, you may wish to select carefully, the dates that you have the procedure, so that they don’t coincide with any major or special events or holidays.
The results can be seen immediately, but you will need to allow a week or so for any swelling to subside and for the product to integrate fully with your skin tissues, and soften.
Expect the results to last from 6 to 9 months, depending on the product used and your individual response to metabolising hyaluronic acid. If you sunbathe excessively, exercise to extremes, smoke and do not drink enough water, you may need to return to the clinic for another treatment sooner than the full 9 months.
This depends on the level of change / augmentation you require. If you only want a subtle enhancement, one treatment may be enough. For a more dramatic change or increase in the volume of your lips, you may need more than one session.
No makeup, touching lip for 24 hours.
No massaging for 2 weeks after the treatment.
No exercise for 3 days after the treatment.
This will vary between individuals. The fee is based per session of treatment and depending on what size you would like your lips this may take multiple sessions. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and if you have smaller lips they key is too slowly build them up to avoid any filler migration.
With any dermal filler treatment there is a risk the filler can migrate (move away from the intended site). In cases where the lips have been treated, we may see the filler move above the border of the lip and create a ledge. However, there are ways to minimise this risk by using appropriate dermal fillers and techniques, although no one can promise zero risk of migration. If the filler moves it’s very easy to dissolve it and this will maintain a natural result.
